Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage mild or spicy
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 medium Onion sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 can Diced tomatoes 14.5 oz can
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add the sliced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. 4. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  5. 5. Stir in the diced tomatoes, oregano, and basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. 6. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
  7. 7. Serve hot over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
