Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Basmati rice
  • 1 cup Mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, beans)
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 inch Ginger grated
  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • to taste Salt
  • 3 cups Water

Instructions 

  1. 1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. 2. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  3. 3. Add chopped onions, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté until onions are golden brown.
  4. 4. Add mixed vegetables and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. 5. Add turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
  6. 6. Add rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil.
  7. 7. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
  8. 8. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
