Ham and Split Pea Soup Recipe

Main Ingredients
- 1 lb Dried split peas
- 1 Ham bone
- 1 cup Chopped ham
- 1 cup Chopped onion
- 1 cup Chopped celery
- 1 cup Chopped carrots
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 8 cups Chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper to taste
1. Rinse the split peas under cold water.
2. In a large pot, combine all ingredients.
3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
4. Remove ham bone, chop any meat left on the bone, and return meat to the pot.
5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
