Main Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 2.25 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2.5 cups bread flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
In a large mixing bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water. Stir in yeast and let sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll and place on a greased baking sheet.
Cover rolls and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes. Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
